Flowering season of cherries steps into Kunming recently. The flowers bloom very well, embellishing West Hongta road, which is situated in the south part of Kunming, near the Dianchi Lake.
Scenes in Winter may always be full of withered and yellow leaves, bare twigs and branches, and other depressing things. However, in streets and on roads of Kunming, people could always see green trees lined in. At the moment, Yunnan's winter-flowering cherries are flourishing on the road.
Winter-flowering cherries gather together on tree after tree, gorgeously cluster on twigs and branches of the tree. Winter-flowering cherry trees stand on both sides of the West Hongta road. "Some of the cherry flowers have bloomed a week ago. Some just emitted flower buds. All of them look very beautiful, " Mr. Liu, who does exercise every day on the road.
He thought that the cherry flowers make all pedestrians feel comfortable and pleased, and have attracted a lot of national and international tourists to take photos of the flowers in past years.
"How wonderful the cherries are! I never saw this kind of scene in other places before, " Xiao Zhou, a tourist from Jiangxi province exclaimed.
To some travelers, to tour in Kunming in winter season is not only because of the city's mild climate, but also because of the blossoming flowers in the city.
In a length of 1.9 kilometers, West Hongta Road is a well-known landscape road where over 600 winter-flowering cherries were intensively grown. The cherry trees on the road had been grown for more than 20 years.
