The Germplasm Bank of Wild Species, affiliated toKunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences and known asthe "Noah's Ark" of China's wildlife, is the only comprehensive preservation facility storing wildlife germplasm resources in China as well asthe largest germplasm bank of wild species in Asia.At present, it has preserved 10,601 categoriesof plant seeds with 85,046 samples, accounting for 36% of the total number of the species of China's seed plants.

By 2020, there are 16,700 international students in Yunnan. In recent years, the city has encouraged and supported the work to expand the scale of international students in its local institutions of higher learning,aiming at building itself as an educational exchange base facing South and Southeast Asia and the first choice for people from the two regions to study in China. These efforts play a crucial role in enhancing the influence of Kunming's international cooperation while promoting its cultural exchanges.

Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone was officially launched two years ago and has made great strides ever since,with a total of 28,160 newly registered enterprises, of which 98 are foreign-owned, and registered capital reaching USD 1.437 billion and EUR 2.161 billion.
